Overview
OrbitDrop is designed as a local Mac utility for temporarily holding files, images, videos, documents, links, and web references. It works on your Mac without requiring an account or cloud service.
Data collection
- We do not collect personal data.
- We do not track users.
- We do not sell data.
- We do not use network-based analytics.
Local files
Files added to OrbitDrop stay on the user's Mac. OrbitDrop may create a local app copy so items remain available inside the app, but those files are not uploaded to a cloud service by OrbitDrop.
Web references
Web links or source URLs may be stored locally only to preserve reference context. This can include a source URL, image URL, source domain, page title if provided by the drag data, and the time the item was captured.
Network access
Network access is used only when the user drags web content or opens related links. OrbitDrop does not use network access to track users or send collected file/reference information to a server.
App Store and system permissions
OrbitDrop may request file access through standard macOS interactions such as drag and drop, file export, or user-selected folders. These permissions are used only to perform the action you requested.
Data removal
You can remove items from OrbitDrop using the app's delete or clear actions. Removing an item from OrbitDrop does not imply deletion from every external location where you may have copied or exported the file.
